I began seeing individuals and couples nearly 25 years ago and I've discovered some important lessons. First, no two people are the same. No two couples are the same. Not even two therapy sessions are the same with the same person. Secondly, the power of the therapeutic relationship is key for all good therapy and yet profoundly unique. So describing what therapy is like on a web site is a little like writing down a short description of what all rivers look like. What I can say about doing therapy with me is that you will not be a diagnosis, you will not be met with a 'one-size fits all' approach to treatment, and you can count on being met with integrity, the best of what I know, and encouragement to find your own path that honors your values and your goals.
I'm a generalist, which means I work with people with a wide range of concerns. Some of the more common include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, LGBT issues, and work related concerns. If you are struggling with something I don't typically work with, I'm happy to help you find someone who does.
Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.
